SMS Terms & Opt-In
Effective Date: September 23, 2026
This page describes how Scanz Automotive, LLC ("Scanz") obtains consent to send SMS messages, what those messages contain, and how to opt out. It is the public call-to-action and opt-in proof for our text messaging program.
Program name: Scanz. Messages are sent by Scanz on behalf of the dealer, shop, or fleet location associated with the recipient. Consent is collected in two separate ways. Desk consent is only for an app invite. Web-scheduler consent is for texts from that location.
This is not a marketing program. Phone numbers and SMS consent collected here are not used to send promotional, advertising, or marketing texts. We do not sell these numbers, and we do not use this consent to market to you.
1. Desk invite (app install only)
A service advisor sits with the customer and offers to send an app invite by text or by email. SMS is optional. If the customer chooses text, the advisor records that yes with a dedicated checkbox in the Scanz portal. That consent is only for the invite to install or join the Scanz app. It is not consent for other texts from the location.
The advisor does not need to read a long script. A short ask is enough when the checkbox language is visible on screen, for example:
"We can send you a text with a link to download our app, or I can email it. Would you like the text?"
The portal checkbox is unchecked by default and is not bundled with general terms. The invite is not sent unless the customer says yes and the box is checked:

Consent language shown in the screenshot: I agree to receive a non-marketing SMS from Scanz Automotive, LLC (Scanz) and [Location Name] with instructions to download or join the Scanz app. This is not consent for promotional or marketing texts. Message frequency is typically one invite. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help. Terms. Privacy.
2. Web scheduler (texts from that location)
When a customer schedules service on a location website that embeds the Scanz scheduler, they may opt in to receive SMS from that location. That consent is given by the customer on the scheduler, not by the service advisor. It is separate from the desk invite.
When the customer first enters their phone number, the scheduler shows a dedicated SMS checkbox that is unchecked by default. Checking it is consent to receive text messages from that location via Scanz (for example appointment confirmations, reminders, and other service communication from that location). These are not marketing messages. It is not required to request the verification code or book. The checkbox language is:

Consent language shown in the screenshot: I agree to receive non-marketing SMS messages from [Location Name] via Scanz. This is not consent for promotional or marketing texts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help. Terms. Privacy.

Not for marketing; privacy
We do not use the mobile numbers or SMS consent collected through the Scanz program for marketing. We will not send you promotional offers, ads, or marketing campaigns based on this opt-in. Desk consent is only the app invite. Scheduler consent is only service texts from that location.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
